Real customers & revenue quality
Are there named paying customers, recurring revenue, and retention evidence?
4/5
Company release, October 17, 2025: surpassed $350 million ARR; more than 750 organizations; one in four of the Forbes Global 2000 (company footnote); more than 1,250 employees. June 1, 2026 CRO release still cites the $350 million ARR from last fall and names LVMH, Michelin, Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, Equifax, and BMO among more than 750 organizations. December 13, 2022 Series F release said the company had surpassed $150 million ARR and grown above 500 customers. Audited financials are not public.
Unit economics
Do gross margins survive inference/compute costs? Is pricing durable?
UnknownUnknown. The ARR releases do not disclose gross margin, net revenue retention, or inference cost.
Moat
Proprietary data, distribution, switching costs, or tech that is hard to copy?
3/5
The June 1, 2026 release describes Dataiku as an orchestration layer that sits above data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and AI services, with governance across analytics, machine learning, and agents. Switching cost is the governed workflow layer, not a proprietary foundation model. Named enterprise logos are company-stated.
Platform risk
Could a model provider or incumbent ship this as a feature? (higher score = lower risk)
3/5
Dataiku is an independent company, not a product line of a larger parent. The same 2026 release says it runs across multi-vendor environments. Snowflake, Databricks, and model vendors can still ship overlapping governance and agent features. Score reflects that dependence risk without treating Dataiku as captive to one platform.
Team & execution
Shipping cadence, leadership track record, stability.
4/5
Florian Douetteau remains co-founder and CEO in the June 1, 2026 release. That release says Maxwell Long joined as President and CRO from Smartsheet, where the company says he led go-to-market growth from hundreds of millions of ARR to more than $1 billion. Those Smartsheet figures are about his prior employer, not Dataiku. Dataiku's own disclosed ARR moved from above $150 million (December 2022 release) to above $350 million (October 2025 release).
Funding vs. traction
Is capital raised justified by verifiable traction?
4/5
December 13, 2022 company release: $200 million Series F led by Wellington Management at a $3.7 billion valuation; total primary funding approximately $600 million; ARR then above $150 million. October 17, 2025 release: ARR above $350 million. No later priced round was found in these disclosures. The 2022 valuation is not wildly ahead of the later company-stated ARR, and no newer mark is treated as fact.
Hype signals
Demo-driven marketing, vague metrics, valuation outrunning evidence? (higher score = fewer red flags)
4/5
ARR is a specific company disclosure, repeated in the 2026 CRO release, not a third-party estimate. The October 2025 release also cites a Harris Poll collaboration (95% of data leaders say they cannot fully trace AI decisions). That survey is marketing context and is not used as an economic result.
